INSSD Topics & Speakers 2022 preliminary schedule-2


Meeting dates: Fourth Wednesday of each month.  Club website:

Until the pandemic lockdown ends, our meetings will continue to be virtual, using GoToMeeting software.

Virtual meetings: 6:00 PM.  Meeting links will be sent out several days ahead. Login begins about 5:45 PM.

In-person meetings: We have a new meeting place. Allied Gardens Rec Center, Gardens Room,

5155 Greenbrier Ave, San Diego CA 92120, just off Waring Rd.  Easy to reach from I-8: Waring Road exit, up the hill, left on Greenbrier (one block beyond the Zion Ave. intersection).  In 2 blocks, Greenbrier ends at the Rec Center parking lot.  Entrance: left side of building.  (Greenbrier has two portions: the other one starts at Mission Gorge Rd. and ends at the opposite side of the park, at Glenroy St., which loops around the park to near the rec center. Get map.)

In-person meeting times: The formal meeting starts at 5:15 PM.  The room is rented from 4:45 - 7:45 PM.  We will have to set up our own tables and chairs and put them away.  We must be 100% out by 8 PM.

February:  Wed., 2/23/2022 Important historical people and places on numismatic objects

    Jeff DePry, Roman Coins Illustrating Important Events and Monuments

    Virtual meeting using GoToMeeting.

March: Wed. 2/23   “Asia”

Speaker: Steve Album, “Central Asia Before Islam”

(This would deal with the copper coins issues circa 450 to 750 AD, with a brief reference to the contemporary silver in and around Tokharistan.)

(It has not yet be determined if this will be in-person or virtual.)
